Does Anyone Know What English Premier League Team Do Most Indians/asians Support?

February 5th, 2010 admin Leave a comment Go to comments

Is it West Ham United b/c a lot of Asian Indians live in East London? I know Tottenham has a lot of Jewish supporters b/c a lot of Jews live in that area.
Please no racist answers – I am just curious b/c I am Indian myself and don’t know much about London demographics. And please no “why does it matter” answers. I was just wondering that’s all, and would like to see what team my people who live in England generally support :-)

    Arsenal!
I went to see games at the Emirates and I thought at times I was in India/Pakistan.
No offense, it’s kinda cool in its own way, but for sure that is my answer. At least half if not 2/3 of the stadium was Asian :)

“Indians who live in London” aren’t Indians though – they are English.
Indians and Asians are people who live in India and Asia and in those countries (just like in the USA) the so-called “Big 4″ are the most popular teams.
Edit: @ Football adict: Who were all those Asian people in Liverpool shirts last year when you did your Far East tournament? All shipped in from Norway were they?

    asians tend to glory hunt
so they mostly support man utd
EDIT well i am jewish and i would never support any of the teams in E London, even though i did live there for a while
west ham supporters are fascist and vile. At least at Arsenal & Tiny Totts you see some non-white fans (occasionally)

I am from Korea and I would say that Manchester United is the team most “support” because of Ji-Sung. I am not sure about the other Asian countries though.
    ***EDIT***
I remember talking to my friend who lives in Southern Asia and he says a lot of people support Liverpool.

leicester probably has the most local asian support but in the premiership i would say birmingham which has a large asian community.

Asians are crazy about Man United… with Liverpool, Arsenal and Chelsea trailing. The colour “red” go down well with Orientals apparently.

Asian people tend to support Man-U.
You only have to look at the crowd when Man -U are playing to see that they have a big Asian fan base.

    Man Utd.
Liverpool already have enough fans so didn’t have to go off searching in the far east to find some fans.

I’m Indian, born and bred in Yorkshire.
I support Man United and have done since the 80s.
There is a large Indian community in Leicester as well as Yorkshire.
To be honest with you two of my brothers and their friends support Leeds United. We all grew up in the 70s and 80s, none of the boys thought of supporting any other team than Leeds United. (back then, none of the girls that I knew were into football)
One of my brothers started off supporting Liverpool and then switched to Man United in the early 80s, he is NOT a glory hunter! (I don’t think that he was serious about Liverpool)Think of all the titles Liverpool won in the 70s and 80s, how many did United win?
